Why do i only need one oil change every 7500 miles?

I bought a new car and the scheduled oil changes on it are every 7500 miles. How is this so?And do I need to do a oil change myself in between that time? Why do i only need one oil change every 7500 miles?
The quality of oil, and engines for that matter, has increased incredibly in the last 20 years. 7500 miles is not too crazy. but if you want to ease your mind even further, start using synthetic oil after the first 2-3 oil changes. As far as changing the oil yourself, don't bother. Some cars are actually very difficult to change, especially without making a mess, unless you are in the proper shop environment. Then you are left with gallons of nasty used oil to deal with. It's really easier to leave it to the pros. I'm not just saying that because I'm one of the pros :)

Don't believe the people that say that oil somehow dies after 3000 miles. That may have been true in the 50's, but it's far from the truth these days.
Cars have evolved, 7.5k is now mostly standard, unless severe conditions hold.

Dont do maint/repairs yourself or by anyone other than your dealer, or add music system amps, etc, on a new car under warranty, you could void it.

See if your warranty is bumper to bumper, the only worthwhile kind, or drivetrain/powertrain which exclude far more than they cover.

Get the most inclusive btb coverage.

Audi dealer’s letter to a customer denying warranty coverge for a ruined engine:

“…your Audi vehicle was taken to an independent repair facility. Independent facilities…are not affiliated with our organization in any way and for this reason, we are unable to confirm or deny the validity of the diagnosis, the extent of the necessary repairs or even the nature of the repair.” http://www.greatbrook.com/Personal/audi_…

“Quick lube shops competing for your business cave into pressure for bargain oil changes.

“To cut costs, they might buy single weight oil in bulk or use recycled oil. They use cheaper, less durable oil filters.

“Low-wage, inexperienced technicians sometimes make servicing mistakes when trying to work faster.”

[No diss to good, independent mechanics.]

“…independent mechanics complain they lack the proprietary tools and data to service many late-model cars…” some 2004 models and earlier.

They’r seeking a “Right to Repair” law allowing them access to manufacturers’ databases.

Toyota %26amp; Ford withhold Technical Service Bulletins from customers %26amp; govt.

"Automakers can save money if owners don’t know about service campaigns that include extended warranties," consumer advocate Clarence Ditlow said.

Toyota alleged it wants to “protect its intellectual property” by withholding the bulletins.

Ford alleged it wants to protect its customers from the risks of do-it-yourself repairs using info in the TSBs. But Ford sells the TSBs to commercial distributors like alldata who in turn resell them w/o restriction.

Mercedes refused to comment on its policy of releasing TSBs in their entirety to the public %26amp; govt.

oil should be changed every 3000 miles. i don't care what kind of car i have. i would never let the same oil run threw my engine for 7500miles. if you look at oil when its new what color is it? a yellowish gold. you look at oil after 3k what color is it? Black. black is bad. oils have chemicals in them. and after 3months most of them that protect the engine die off which leaves you little protection and alot of sludge build up. so do it 3k or every 3 months. which ever occurs first.
7500 miles is fine. Just follow the manual and document every oil change. Change it a few hundred miles early each time just to avoid giving the manufacturer any room to argue. Why do i only need one oil change every 7500 miles?
No you don't need to do a oil change ,you can do up to 10.000 miles be for you need to change the oil depending on the make of the car .
