Longest my car can go without oil change if I drive infrequently?

I only use my '97 honda civic to go to school and maybe errands sometimes, usually only use it 4 or 5 days a week. It's been maybe a year since my last oil change, BUT I haven't even gone 1000 miles. Should I be concerned? Thx for helping.Longest my car can go without oil change if I drive infrequently?
generally you could go safely 1 year with synthetic, maybe 6months with conventional unless you have longer limits in your owner's manual.

3months is an out of date recommendation or only for for special operating conditions (like turbo cars).

Probably you could go longer, but without sending in your oil to be tested, there is no way to be sure and you maybe risking it.

That being said, you have a 13year old honda. It's probably pretty easy on oil and will work well even if you neglect the oil for awhile.Longest my car can go without oil change if I drive infrequently?
Most engine oils absorb moisture in the air and break down over time. This is especially true of cars that are driven infrequently. Much depends on the climate and humidity where you live. I wouldn't panic, but if you see soapy residue on the filler cap or dipstick have the oil changed right away. Soapy or creamy stuff means water is in the oil from short run driving. There are other causes but this is the common one for cars that never get the oil hot enough to evaporate the moisture out of it.

Recommended oil changes are generally 3 months or 5000 Kilometres.Longest my car can go without oil change if I drive infrequently?
Yeesh...way too long. Even with only 1000 miles, six months would be tops.
