Oil change?

i took my car to the shop for a oil change and its only been 1000 miles and the oil level is almost low. is that normal for the oil level to drop that low within 1000 miles? my car does not leak oil or have any weird gas smell from the exhaust. no smoke coming from the exhaust. everything is perfectly fine. i just wanted to know if its normal for a car to have such low oil level within 1000 miles. thankyouOil change?
that is not normal, get it checked out
Depends on the oil. Low quality oils degrade and burn off more quickly than good quality oils.

A low viscosity 5-30 petroleum based oil goes away quicker than a 10-40 or 15-50 like I use.

A synthetic with good top cylinder lubricating properties burns off, but because it bonds with water, the level looks like it's staying full, but the lubricating quality of the oil gets worse and worse as you drive.

I don't like changing oil, and I don't like having people that don't give a crap about my car working on it. So I bought a toilet paper element oil filter. It's called a "Frantz". I change the filter once a month (this coming weekend as a matter of fact) and add a fresh quart of oil to replace the dirt %26amp; water I removed in the filter and my oil is cleaner all the time than yours is after an oil change.

.Oil change?
Mixing oil with water ... get it checked ASAP.
If the oil was refilled to the proper level, and you are sure it's not leaking out, the engine is burning oil.Oil change?
If it is the first oil change ever (new car), then that is not surprising; new oil at break-in period will sometimes be consumed at a rate of one quart per thousand miles.

If the car has already had a couple of oil changes, again, a quart in a thousand miles is not all that bad, although you should be keeping a watchful eye on the oil level (once that first quart is consumed, more will follow quickly).

How many miles are on the vehicle? If there are many thousands, then the oil consumption most likely is not a cause for concern; if it has only a few thousand, I'd have a compression check done (to eliminate causes such as a bad oil ring, valve guides) and a visual inspection (to check for oil leaks at gaskets, pan and filter).

Other than that, there's not a lot anyone can tell you, given such limited information as provided. Good luck!
why change your oil after 1000 miles? Why take it to a shop to change it? Why not buy a $1.89 quart of oil and add it yourself? The big cap on top of the engine that says OIL on it... thats where it goes. Your oil could be low for a multitude of reasons...as for it being "normal" for it to be low after 1000 miles...well how low was it? 1 qt, 2 qts? do you even know?
Perhaps when you got the oil changed they didn't fill the filter with oil first..then when it was driven the oil filled the filter giving you the low reading. Just check it every week and see if the level drops..I always change my own oil...I don't trust those "quicky" places.
