Oil change?

how do i change the oil in my chevy prism??

no smart a** comments pleaseOil change?
just take it to jiffy lube
jack the car up with a jack support the car with a stand then get under there and locate the oil drain plug unscrew the plug drain oil into a oil pan or a litter box if you dont have a pan also remove the oil filter and replace it with a new one be sure to coat the seal on the filter with a little fresh oil after installing the new filter and all oil is drained out of car tighten the drain plug (make sure its tight enough) fill car with the correct amount of oil make sure its the right kind in your case 5w30 is fine a parts store can tell you the correct amount of oil (ask when you are getting the new filter)

good luckOil change?
You will need a pan to catch the oil in. Place the pan under the car and remove the drain plug from the oil pan. Be careful, it comes out fast. Then after the oil has drained out, replace the drain plug. Next remove the oil filter. Pour some fresh oil into the new filter, then install it. Then pour the rest of the required amount of oil into the opening in the valve cover. You may want to get a repair manual specific for your car before you start. Good luck.

good Luck...Oil change?
not so hard .. .once you know how every car or truck will be somewhat like the other... first id go and get oil and oil filter that is for your car.. parts store will help you need to know what year it is and what type of motor but year will work just tell them you want to change your oil and you dont have anything to do the job you need every thing but heres a few ways to do it and if you look might find a video ... it is best you know how to take care of your own car as much as you can not onbly it saves you money it wil help you keep it running longer
I'LL GO EASY. YOU'LL HAVE TO LIFT THE FRONT OF THE CAR TO GET UNDER IT WITH A PAN A WRENCH AND A FILTER WRENCH. SO JACK UP THE CAR AND PUT A JACK STAND UNDER THE CAR BEHIND THE FRONT WHEELS DO THIS ON THE FRAME PART NOT ON BODY PARTS LIKE LOWER FENDERS WHEN THIS IS DONE TRY TO PUSH THE CAR SIDE TO SIDE GENTLY MAKE SURE THE CAR WON'T FALL THEN MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN PARK AND THE E BRAKE IS SET. NOW GO UNDER THE CAR AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE IS THE OIL PAN IT WILL HAVE A DRAIN PLUG IN IT LOOSEN IT PUT THE PAN UNDER IT AND SLOWLY REMOVE THE PLUG BE READY TO MOVE THE PAN A IT WILL COME OUT FAST AT FIRST . SO BE READY . TIP. DO THIS WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD TO AVOID A BURN FROM HOT OIL . WHEN IT COMPLETELY DRAINED PUT THE PLUG BACK IN AND TIGHTEN. THEN FIND THE FILTER THE AUTO PARTS STORE CAN TELL YOU WHERE IT IS IF YOU ASK. REMOVE IT AD REPLACE WITH NEW THEN ADD THE OIL FROM THE TOP CHECK OIL LEVEL AND TAKE CAR OFF STANDS. THEN START THE ENGINE LET IDLE A FEW SECONDS SHUT OF ENGINE CHECK UNDER CAR FOR LEAKS AND OIL LEVEL ONCE AGAIN. TOP OFF IF NEEDED. REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST YOU ARE UNDER A HEAVY CAR.
Here's a funny video that should show you everything that you need to know.

It is really quite easy. Make sure that you have enough oil at least 6-7 quarts on hand with the right viscosity (5w30,5w20,5w40,etc) from your owner's manual. Also double check and make sure that you have the right size filter. Follow the steps in the video and in about 30 minutes your oil will be changed and you will have saved some money!
