Is it okay to add oil into an engine without doing an oil change?

Is it okay to just add oil without doing a full change if the oil is running a little low.|||Engine oil should be checked using the oil dip stick, when the engine is cold, and the car sitting on a level parking spot.

If the oil level on the dipstick shows below the "add oil" mark, then you should add a full quart (liter) of oil. If the level is above the add mark, then don't worry about it.|||if its not lite brown like honey and its more black then you need to change it.its prolly burnin on it cause its time for a oil change.itll be fine for now if you add some but that dirty oil is just gonna continue to burn and burn valves. the dirt can get in the valves seat, scar the rings|||As stated yes it is not only fine but a MUST if your engine is low on oil add oil! Do an oil change very 2500-3000 miles or 90 days +/-

And yes you can mix synthetic oil with non synthetic. Read your cars operators manual to find the correct weight for the oil|||Yes. I think you have to make sure it's a similar oil though ie synthetic or mineral. I'm a gynocologist though so wrong type of service for me. Grrrrrrufff!!!!|||Yes, no problem. Just don't keep doing that instead of getting an oil change. And if you run low often you prob have a leak somewhere.|||As long as you don't overfill the crankcase, yes you can.|||sure it,s okay ! if it,s low on oil just pour some in but don,t overfill it.|||If your oil is running low then yes of course you should add oil. Make sure you change your oil often though!|||That's fine ....................... but sooner or later you ARE going to have to change the oil filter.|||yes but always do oil changes at regular intervals
