this is what I do with mobile 1 synthetic. say I change the oil and filter at 50K, at 55K I put on a new fram filter and add 1 quart of mobil1, then at 60K I do the oil and filter again and continue like this for as long as I own the car. I bought my honda odyssey with 20K on it and it now has 132K. it does not use any oil and the car runs like new. works for me
6,000 - 7,500 miles depending on how dirty it's gettting in between changes.Oil Change?
well the manufacturer says it is double the life of conventional oils
Most change the oil at every 3000 mile intervals
so depending on your driving style and or distance driving
one can either double that to 6000 miles or
the more if you drive shorter distances and less mileage
say to as much as 9000 miles
but personally...if synthetic oil binds to metals
and all motors have metal shavings at a point
then to me the oil traps the metals instead of them draining to the pan or filter....so..commen sense says synthetics may not be what everyone thinks they are.........?
pricy oils doesnt make them better oils
synthetics just as teflon , with heat it still peels after awhile
so give that a thought too !!
5-6 thou.Oil Change?
change the oil and filter every 6 or 7000 miles.
That depends on what kind of car / driving you do.
But it is safe to say about 5K miles. The oil does not break down like regular oil. But eventually all the additive gets depleted (and that doesn't change for synth or regular oil).
You can read more about oil here:

Basically it is better to change it out BEFORE the oil goes bad. Check the dip stick from time to time. BLACK means you've waited too long.
Good Luck.
P.S. The first guy says to use FRAM filter. BUNK! Fram filters suck (except for Tough Guard). You can read more about here:
